Request data deletion

How to ask Emmaus support to review deletion of your account and personal data with your parish.

Request a review

Last updated: October 20, 2026.

You can ask Emmaus OCIA support to review deletion of your account and personal data. Emmaus support coordinates the request with the parish that invited you. You do not need to sign in or install the app to request a review.

  1. Email bhaack@emmaus-ocia.org with the subject Emmaus OCIA data deletion request.
  2. Give the email address used for your account, your parish name, and whether you want account access removed, particular personal data deleted, or both. A guardian may request a review for a participant they are authorized to represent.
  3. Support verifies your identity and authority, coordinates with the parish, and explains what can be deleted and what must be retained before completing the request. Support confirms the outcome with you.

Please do not send passwords, sacramental certificates, identity documents, assessment answers, or other sensitive records in the initial email. Support will explain any verification needed.

Account access and personal data

Following verification and parish review, eligible account/profile information, optional photos, uploaded documents, and other removable personal data can be deleted. Tell support if your request concerns only particular information. Removing login access alone does not delete the parish record.

Records that may be retained

Sacramental and other parish records, required audit history, security records, and backup copies may need to be retained under applicable parish, canonical, legal, or operational requirements. A deletion request does not automatically erase sacramental records or another person's records.

Retention depends on the type of record and the requirements that apply to your parish. Before completing your request, support explains the specific data being retained, why it is retained, the applicable retention period or criteria, and how existing backup copies are handled. There is no single retention period for every parish record.

Other privacy requests

You can use the same support address to ask about correction, access, or withdrawal of consent. Explain the change you want; support will review the effect on services and any continuing record-retention obligations with you and your parish.
